6/6

First thoughts (1/6)

I’m here. In Brazil. In a favela. Looking sooo different from the others. People stearing. Dogs barking. In unknown waters. Hesitative looks. No one speaking english. Police asking what are we doing there. Don’t take out your phone. Wearing earrings is a bad idea.

After two weeks (2/6)

I was wrong in so many things. It is a community. Everyone knows everyone and have each others back. All people walk with their phones out. Police buying fresh fish from the local fisherman. Saying "Bom Dia" 1000 times just for going to get the morning coffee, because every minute a friend passes by. His sister speaks fluent english and her kid Pedro is the cutest thing ever.

(3/6)

Feeling more local vibes. In love with my english class students. Getting better at surfing and feeling the waves. Got burnt from the sun for the first time. A bit tired of the white bread, rice & beans. Learning new words in portuguese. Getting more closer with locals. The traffic and the roads are a bit louco to say it softly.

Fresh juices every lunch (and something else than rice & beans)

(4/6)

Routine at home 1

Morning coffee. High bun. Leggings. Workout. Shower. Chill in hamock. Lunch salad. Onibus 627. Change 913. Boa tarde. Hugs. Sessy. English. Surf.

Routine at home 2

Alarm 6 am. Morning kisses. Flip flops. Sandwich. Paraffin for the surfboard. Streching at the beach. Surf. Shower. Coffee at grannys. Hugs for Perdo.

(5/6)

Filled with so much happiness. So much positiveness. Smiles. Good, genue people. Honest, sincere kids. Wouldn’t change it for anything. Blessed. Full of joy. This is how pure happiness feels like.

(6/6)

Bed. Home. Don’t want to leave my comfortable bed, sweet home. Knowing that I will never have the opportunity to sleep in this bed again, makes it even more overwhelming. Trying to breathe in every second of if. Feel the comfortable pillow. Light wind from the fan. Screaming birds. No windows. Mama cooking in the kitchen. Big football flag on the wall. Yellow walls. Looking at the time at 2 am almost every night. Stickers on the closet. Getting light at 6 am. Very sugary morning coffee from the termos. Nowhere to hurry. Everyone has time. Always. It’s brazilian time.

Don't want to leave my friends, family and loved ones behind. These 6 weeks gave me so much more than I had expected. I got a chance to meet so warmhearted, loving and kind people and I am forever grateful for this opportunity. And of course my Thor and Sessy..
